American Correctional Chaplains Association
American Correctional Chaplains Association is a professional organization that offers certification programs for chaplains who serve in federal and state prisons. It is based in Bozeman, Montana.
Aleph Institute
The Aleph Institute's Spark of Light program is a project of Chabad International. The group estimates there are approximately 5,000 incarcerated Jews and they assist them in keeping Jewish laws of food, dress and observance while they are imprisoned. They provide books, garments, ritual items like tefillin, etc. and rabbinical visits. They have re-entry programs and support programs for the families of the incarcerated. They have offices in New York, Los Angeles and Florida.
Christian Prison Ministry
Christian Prison Ministry is a non-denominational ministry with roots in the Pentecostal church. They train and certify chaplains with Pentecostal affiliation for ministry behind bars. They hold an annual national conference focused on training volunteers in different aspects of prison ministry, including anger management, substance abuse and building a church behind bars. The group claims it has trained 3,000 people since its founding in 1982 and is based in Weldon Spring, Missouri.
